Access your WFU email on iOS Devices

We strongly recommend using the Gmail app on your Apple iOS devices to maintain the best user experience for WFU accounts. The Gmail app is optimized to provide enhanced security features, including advanced phishing protection, encrypted email transmission, and seamless integration with Google’s productivity tools.

Signing in via Gmail Application on iOS

This guide will help you set up and log in to your Wake Forest email account in the Gmail app.

Download the Gmail App

  • On your iPhone or iPad locate the Gmail App in the App Store and tap "Get" or the cloud download icon.
  • Once installed, open the Gmail app.

Sign Into the Gmail App

  • Open the Gmail app.
  • Tap Sign in.
  • Select Google as the account type.
  • Enter your full Wake Forest email address and tap Next.

  • Enter your Wake Forest email password and tap Next.
  • If prompted, enable notifications for new emails.

Access WFU email on iOS

This guide will help you set up and log in to your Wake Forest email account in the iPhone Mail app.

Open the Settings App

  • Locate the Settings app on your iPhone. It is typically represented by a gear icon.
  • Tap on the Settings app to open it.

Add a New Account

  • Scroll down and tap on Mail.
  • Tap on Accounts.
  • Tap on Add Account.

Select Google

  • A list of email providers will appear. Tap on Google.

Sign In to Your Wake Forest Email Account

  • You will be redirected to the Google sign-in page.
  • Enter your Wake Forest email address and tap Next.
  • Enter your Wake Forest email password and tap Next.
  • If you have two-factor authentication enabled, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the verification process.

Enter your Gmail email address and tap Next.

This shows the next screen of when you type your password and email in, you will hit continue.

Grant Permissions

  • After successfully signing in, you will see a list of permissions that the Mail app requests.
  • Tap on Allow to grant the necessary permissions for Mail to access your Gmail account.

Choose What to Sync

  • You will now have the option to sync other data with your Gmail account, such as Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and Notes.
  • Toggle the switches for the data you want to sync and tap Save.

Access your Wake Forest Email in the Mail App

  • Open the Mail app on your iPhone.
  • Your Gmail account will now be listed, and you can tap on it to view your inbox and start sending and receiving emails.
