AI Companion Licensing

Two requirements for access:

1. Zoom Pro license:

Zoom AI Companion is a feature found only in those accounts which are licensed for Zoom Pro. To check, log into zoom.wfu.edu and click on your profile icon in the upper right. Zoom Pro accounts include a LICENSED label.

  • Faculty are provisioned a pro license when signing into Wake Forest's Zoom for the first time. This is based on the faculty designation in Workday and is intended to prevent disruption to student support or instruction.
  • Wake Forest University individuals not listed as faculty in Workday are automatically provisioned Zoom Basic accounts when they sign in to Zoom, but may request a Zoom Pro license for university-related needs.

2. Enable AI Companion in your Zoom account

Turn on AI Companion for your account: these features are disabled by default to respect your preferences around the use of AI. To opt in, enable AI Companion for your Zoom Pro account by following these instructions, from Zoom. AI Companion settings are highly customizable and granular for your particular preferences around the use of these tools.

If this capability is enabled by the host, just ask AI Companion for a summary of what’s happened so far, if your name was mentioned, or if there were any action items you missed. Meeting hosts have privacy settings to control whether they want participants to be able to ask questions about the meeting, including finding out about what happened before they joined.

Meeting Summary

During a live meeting, the host can enable Meeting summary to automatically organized into chapters and highlights are generated, which can be shared and seen by others.

Meeting Coach

Grow skills in leading meetings with this helpful coaching feature. Meeting coach gives hosts metrics about their talk-listen ratio, talk speed, filler words, and shortest/longest spiel. Only hosts and admins with access to the recordings can view these metrics.
