Explore generative AI with Adobe CC tools, including Firefly and Photoshop's Generative Fill

Modified on: Wed, Aug 28, 2024 9:00 AM

As with all new and emerging technologies, we encourage you to work with your instructors or supervisors to understand expectations for leveraging these or other AI tools in any academic or business work. Use caution when providing any data, and do not share personal or sensitive information in queries.

Adobe has integrated generative AI features into many of its Creative Cloud suite of apps, which all students, faculty and staff have access to as part of our Wake Forest Licensing agreement. Get started with these features including Photoshop's generative fill, Firefly's text-to-image, and more, and expand your genAI literacy and abilities. Follow the below steps to get started.

How to access

  1. Be sure you have requested your WFU Adobe license (available to all students, faculty and staff) which provides access to the entire suite of Adobe Creative Cloud apps. This form is automated and can be completed at any hour of the day. Estimated time: less than a minute.
  2. Head over to firefly.adobe.com and sign in with your WFU account.
  3. Start using Firefly right away!
  4. Consider exploring some other ways genAI is incorporated into Adobe CC apps, including Photoshop, Express, Audition, and more.
  5. You may notice a note detailing your existing "generative credits." For most, this amounts to hundreds of genAI outputs per month. Every account is provided with this monthly allowance as part of our Wake Forest Adobe licensing. You'll get a fresh reset of your allowance each month.

There are hundreds of offerings in LinkedIn Learning and from Adobe directly, but the below course, Adobe Firefly Essential Training, can be a good start in learning how Firefly works across the Adobe CC suite.
