Firefox ESR is a browser certified by IBM for use with Cognos. If you are experiencing loss of functionality with your current browser, you have the option to use Firefox ESR. The following instructions detail how to install ESR:
Windows
If the regular version of Firefox is installed on your computer, it is necessary to uninstall it.- Close Mozilla Firefox
- Launch Control Panel > Programs and Features
- Find Mozilla Firefox and click on it once to select it
- Select Uninstall at the top of the app listing
- Using Chrome or another browser go this Mozilla depository to download Firefox ESR.
- Select the Windows English version - 1st column (NOT the 64-bit version in 2nd column)
- Launch the downloaded executable file
- Select Standard install and answer OK to suggested download location.
- Install is complete.
Mac
If the regular version of Firefox is installed on your computer, it is necessary to uninstall it.- Close Mozilla Firefox
- Use Finder to navigate to the Applications folder
- Find Mozilla Firefox and drag it to "Trash" in the Dock
- Using Chrome or another browser go to this Mozilla depository to download Firefox ESR.
- Select the Mac English version in the 3rd column
- Double-click the .dmg file drag Firefox.app into the Applications folder.
- Firefox ESR for Mac is now installed.
