Frequently Asked Questions
- What do I do if my computer needs repair after I graduate?
Call IBM EasyServ at 1-800-426-7378. Be sure to identify yourself as Wake Forest Alumni. Have your ThinkPad handy as you may be asked to verify the serial number on the machine.
- How do I update my password?
Update your password before it expires! Learn how here.
- How long does my undergraduate e-mail address stay active?
The e-mail address you have used at Wake Forest will remain active for 60 days following your graduation.
- Can I forward my undergraduate e-mail to another address?
Yes. You can go here to forward your e-mail until your account expires 60 days following your graduation. Log in using your WFU e-mail username and password. Follow the menu prompts to forward your e-mail to another account.
This same menu also allows you to have an automatic “vacation reply.” This reply can say anything you want. For instance, “I’ve graduated from Wake Forest. My new e-mail address is deacon@mynewjob.com."
- Can I keep my e-mail account active past graduation?
We will extend e-mail accounts for students who continue their studies at WFU or are temporarily employed by the University after graduation. All other e-mail accounts are terminated 60 days following your graduation. You can set up an E-mail Forwarding for Life account through WIN.

- Can I bring my Thinkpad to the Service Desk for a “check-up” and “reload” (Windows reloaded) before I graduate?
If you are experiencing problems such as blue screens, fan errors, or unusual noises, certainly bring your ThinkPad to the Service Desk for repair. More info on "Should I bring my ThinkPad to the Service Desk?"
If you want your Thinkpad reloaded to remove spyware, improve performance and get a fresh start, you are responsible for backing up your data. The ServiceDesk will not backup data unless your computer needs a hardware repair or will not boot up properly.
