Run your virus scan
Remember to run your weekly virus scan. This keeps your ThinkPad and data safe as well as the campus computing community.

Avoid file sharing programs
-Files you could download through these programs may appear to be music or movies but are actually infected virus files
-Symantec cannot always detect these types of files

Be careful with e-mail!

Do not click on Web links in e-mails sent from strangers. Remember your parents telling you not to talk to strangers? The same concept applies to e-mail.
-Legitimate organizations will not ask you for your username and password through e-mail.

Always use VPN when not on campus
When not on campus, always use VPN. This will give your ThinkPad the same security as our campus network, even when you are away.
