Cisco VPN Window Stays Minimized

*Note* This fix applies to an older VPN client.  There is a new version available here help.wfu.edu/vpninstall.



Symptom
:
Upon launch, the VPN client window never appears.  In the task bar, one can see an icon for the VPN client. Hovering over the icon displays a window, but it is not possible to display the corresponding window.

Solution:

Hit CTRL + ALT + DELETE on your keyboard and the select Start Task Manager
Under the Applications tab, find the VPN Client, right click and select Maximize. This should restore the window and allow you to adjust its size from there. 

Alternate Solution:

Edit the vpnclient.ini file.This file may be in the directory C:\Programs\Cisco\VPN Client. The problem may be an absurdly large value for WindowX and WindowY. Change these to 42949.
